A family-owned business, Shadowfax winery was established in 1998 and is located in the heart of Werribee Park.
Shadowfax’s distinctive architecture — featuring a rusted sheet metal exterior and a warm terracotta interior — captures the essence of Australia’s rich wine heritage. Inside, there is a fully operational winery, cellar door, and 80-seat restaurant. Visitors can sample and purchase wines, enjoy a leisurely lunch of seasonal dishes, or host memorable corporate and social events.
Headed by chief winemaker Alister Timms, Shadowfax’s wines are made onsite at the winery, which are left undisturbed in the specially built underground barrel hall to quietly mature and evolve.
Consistently rated a five-star winery by Halliday, Shadowfax’s wines have a strong focus on regionality with most of its fruit produced from its vineyards in the Macedon Ranges and Werribee.
Renowned varieties include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Shiraz as well as a selection of highly limited, single-vineyard wines.
