Based in the heart of Melbourne’s fast-growing west, Good News Lutheran College (GNLC) offers an education grounded in faith, purpose and values of Grace, Respect, Integrity and Courage. The College was founded in 1997 at Tarneit and has grown significantly from a small group of 24 Primary Years students to over 1,600 students across Prep-Year 12. Due to strong and sustained demand for places at all year levels, a second campus will be opening at Mambourin in 2025.
GNLC offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum framework in Prep-Year 9 and the VCE in Years 10-12. This combination provides students with a highly regarded academic program, empowering inquiring minds and preparing global citizens. Our dedicated teachers are committed to equipping students to pursue their dreams and bringing the best out of every student. We take great pride in ‘Creating Success Together’ in honour of our loving creator, God.
Positive student behaviour is developed through the Restorative Practices framework. Pastoral Care and Wellbeing is provided through a program of daily devotions, Chapel services and targeted age-appropriate wellbeing topics. Students are nurtured to grow with confidence and self-belief and have access to a team of Counsellors and a Chaplain where they can access support. The Learning Enrichment team works with parents, teachers, College psychologist and external allied health professionals to ensure the best possible learning outcomes. Students embark on camps and excursions that challenge them in new ways and expand their minds with educational and real-life experiences.
Students are equipped for success with many extra-curricular opportunities. These include the Swimming Program for early Primary Years, RedX HPV Pedal Prix, Melody Makers Instrumental Program, Robotics Club, Musical Productions, WynSpeak Debating, sports programs and more.
