14th Annual Economic Update with Commonwealth Bank of Australia 2025

The Committee for Wyndham proudly hosted the 14th Annual Economic Update Lunch at Shadowfax Winery, bringing together Melbourne’s leaders and community representatives.

This year’s update was delivered by Luke Yeaman, Chief Economist and Head of Global Economic & Markets Research at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, who shared a clear assessment of global, national, and local economic conditions. With over 25 years’ experience across the Commonwealth Treasury, Prime Minister’s Office, and Australia’s largest bank, Luke provided practical insights into the challenges and opportunities shaping the year ahead.

From global market volatility and inflationary pressures to national policy directions and regional opportunities, his forecasts equipped attendees with the knowledge to plan with confidence amid ongoing uncertainty.

Beyond the economic outlook, the event fostered valuable connections, enabling leaders across Melbourne to exchange perspectives and strengthen collaboration.

We sincerely thank our event sponsors — Williams Landing Town Centre – Cedar Woods Property Limited and Commonwealth Bank — for their support. Our thanks also to Shadowfax Wines for providing the perfect setting and Lizzy Jacobs Photography for capturing the day.

The Annual Economic Update continues to stand as one of Wyndham’s most significant business gatherings, reinforcing our mission to advocate, connect, and educate on the issues that matter most to our region.
