Inside the Budget

On Tuesday 5 May – the same day the 2026-2027 Victorian State Budget was released – members joined an exclusive online briefing with John Lister MP, Member for Werribee.

John unpacked key announcements, funding allocations, and what the Budget means for Wyndham’s infrastructure, services, workforce and economic growth. Members also had the opportunity to ask questions directly and seek clarity around funding announcements and local priorities.

The session provided valuable clarity on the Budget’s implications for Wyndham, but just as importantly, it highlighted the questions still being asked by businesses across our region.

What does this mean for local infrastructure?

How will it impact workforce and growth?

Where are the opportunities, and where are the gaps?

These are the conversations that do not end with a briefing. They continue in the room.

Because staying informed is important, but being part of the conversation is where influence begins.

Our Treasurer Lunch – being held in June 2026 – will bring business, government and community leaders together to take this discussion further, with direct access to decision-makers and the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue.
