On Tuesday 22 July, Committee for Wyndham members were given exclusive access to tour the newly opened Wyndham Law Courts—the largest court complex outside Melbourne’s CBD.
Located in East Werribee, this $271 million state-of-the-art facility represents a significant investment in the west, enhancing access to justice while supporting local economic growth.
Members explored key features of the complex, including 13 courtrooms, mediation suites, and dedicated spaces for the Magistrates’ Court, Children’s Court, Koori Court and VCAT. With a strong focus on accessibility and community needs, the facility also includes quiet rooms, child-friendly zones, and a Changing Places amenity. A great deal of attention to detail in the architecture reflects more than just an aesthetic – each detail has a story and meaning behind it.
Beyond its legal function, the Wyndham Law Courts will contribute to the region’s broader social wellbeing by improving access to timely legal services and supporting vulnerable community members. It also brings long-term job opportunities, increased visitation, and greater connectivity to surrounding services and institutions—cementing Wyndham as a growing hub for justice and community care.
This tour offered not only a look inside a world-class legal hub but also sparked conversations about how our members can support Wyndham’s new asset.
Thank you to our Business, Corporate and Corporate Plus members for joining us. Thank you Lizzy Jacobs for the story telling images. Thank you Di, Gerry, Hans and Judy for delivering such an informative tour.
